Wilbur's Farm Toys

Wilbur is my little farmer. He loves the idea of country life and that is one reason he adores the Barbic lifestyle. We all live as one big family, a giant clan that works together to get food and keep everything in balance. He is already very good with ramas and horses.

This clock hangs over Wilbur's bed. He is just starting to learn to tell time with clocks instead of the sun, which is the way all my children learn starting out. I went to the marketplace of Gummadoon and got him this clock to prompt his learning. He adores it and so far, he hasn't complained about the lessons being too hard!

These are Wilbur's favorite stuffed animals. The horse sits on his bed's headboard and he calls it Dusty and assures me that every night, she gets up and runs around his room, neighing and throwing a fit, glad to be able to run around. I humor him...who knows? Kids can see things adults can't. As for the pig, he sleeps with it and calls it, ironically, Bacon.

Here are all of Wilbur's little farm figures. He keeps them in his toy chest but when he takes them out, he adores to set up elaborate designs with them. He can spend hours simply making a very realistic farm setting, complete with pastures, barns and a ridding paddock. He collected these figures over the years although he says that most of them are from his blood family.

The largest of his toy collection, this barn model is the most used and he keeps it safely on his bookshelf, refusing to let anyone but me or adults get it down and put it up. He doesn't even trust himself not to drop it. His great-grandfather made it for him and he thanks him for it every chance he gets, every time he sees him and since we live in the same city now, that is quite a lot!

These two puzzles are favorites of Wilbur's. The first is more appropriate for his young age and he has mastered it like a pro. He still adores to do it though and he'll let his younger sister help if she wants to. But the second pictures is what he sees as the real challenge. It has a lot more pieces than his other puzzles but since it is a farm design, he keeps trying.
