Eboni's Toy Chest

This is my little Eboni's Toy chest. She has only a few toys right now, mainly because she is happier to just play with her siblings or imagination outside than with toys. However, she does have a few choice toys that she is fond of and here are those few. Her siblings and I are working to find her favorite types of toys so look for more in time.

These two are Eboni's night time dolls. She switches off, one night it will be the wolf and the other the lunatac doll. The wolf doll she calls Draug which is the elvish word for wolf. She doesn't speak common yet, just elvish and a language I think is fey-created, probably from interactions with them. She never puts the wolf down, calls it her protector. The lunatac girl she calls Feanor which means "Spirit of Fire." Ironic as the the doll is Ice Lunatac!

Eboni still doesn't play with toys very much but she does have a few favorites. These four are her favorites for games. She uses the Thunderian dolls for elves as near as I can tell and the gummi dolls for gummies. She calls the girl Thunderian doll "Atara" which is elvish for mother and the male gummi "Atar" which is elvish for father. Her play lets me see see a bit of her past. The male Thunderian is called, "Edhel" or simply "Elf" and the female gummi is "Sha'Quessir" or elf friend.

These are Eboni's late night toys. She usually only brings them out when it's late in the day. After dinner, she'll drag out her rings and keys and play rather contently until the sun sets. After dark, she retreats to the family room and sits by my feet and rolls her balls back and forth with her three year old brother Endymion. Night makes her nervous.

Eboni is a fan of soft music so I allowed her to get a harp. She can't play it alone, mainly because there is always a danger with a toddler and a heavy instruments but she handles it beautifully. I think it must be a mix of both her elvish talent for beauty and her gummi love of creative things. She is an expert at the harp. Occasionally, she'll blow the flute too but that's a rarity. The kite is pretty big but because she's got her elvish height and strength, she can fly it as long as I'm with her.

Creativity is not a lost cause with this one. She loves the theater! So, I got her this little puppet theater and puppets to play with. She makes very elaborate shows. Unfortunately, many have the motif of losing a way of life and those we love but the good thing is that it gives me a look into her past without scaring her.

Eboni is far more fond of running about bare foot but she will ride occasionally, usually when it's dark out. I think having her feet off the ground when she can't see gives her a sense of safety so that is what her little sheep is for. She rides it for hours on end after the sun sets but she won't touch it during the day, preferring to play outside. She calls it "Mellryn" which is elvish for  "Golden Trees"

These two sit in her room, nearly unused except for mild periods of time. The rocking horse she tends to use in the early morning, around sunrise. She doesn't like to have her feet out of bed until the sun is up so she'll sit on her rocking horse until she can see the sun. The pole horse she'll occasionally ride around outside. It's called "Saipio" which is elvish for "Plum."
